In this special Faith & Life Seminar, Dr. Hankerson will address our current struggle with racial injustice and the impact this is having on individuals and our society.  He will help us understand what racism is, what systematic racism is, and what our role is, as followers of Jesus and as the church, in working for healing, justice and reconciliation.

Led By: Dr. Sidney Hankerson
Sidney Hankerson is currently Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons and the New York State Psychiatric Institute. He conducts research to train clergy how to counsel depressed community members is passionate about helping churches engage issues of racial justice and reconciliation.

Originally from Fredericksburg, Virginia, Dr. Hankerson developed an interest in Psychology at the University of Virginia. He then traveled South to receive his Medical Degree (MD) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
