I Quit Devotion Day Forty Eight

Romans 11:6

"For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen."

This verse is a good reminder to us that all things were created to give God glory – even us. In our lives, personal and professional, we need to remind ourselves that what we have was given by God. Therefore, we need to thank him and give him praise for the people in our lives and for the things we have and accomplish. For all good and perfect things come from God. It is all for God’s glory.

This should humble us. What we accomplish is not by our own doing but by God’s power working through us for a purpose.  It is intended to show us and others the kind of God we serve. We are workers and servants for God and his Kingdom. Let your attitude at work and at social gathering reflect the God in us. People will always make up their mind (whether it’s fair or not) about who God is by the way Christians act.

Even the bad things in life are the very things God uses to shape us, refine us and show us how great he is. But, we have to trust him. He can turn it around for our good and his glory. Just as he did with Job (see Job 1).

God does not need us to worship him as he can make a rock cry out his name, but he wants us to worship him because he loves us. He knows that worshiping him is the best thing for us. He gives us free will to choose and in doing so, we reap benefits.
