I Quit Devotion Day Twenty Three

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

This past summer, I went to South Africa with fellow Journey members on a life-changing missions trip.

I had to fundraise to attend, and three days before the final payment date, I still owed $475. The next day, I received $75. On the due date, I received $300 from another donor. Since the money was due that day, I paid $100 out of pocket. I was happy to come so close to being fully funded by donors!

That evening, my roommate walked in with the mail and handed me a letter. It was from a Journey newcomer who had been apart of my Growth Group in the spring. In it, she thanked me for my time. She said God had blessed her financially and moved her heart to give towards my trip.

In the envelope was a $100 bill.

I’m totally moved and amazed by how our God works. There’s no way this was a coincidence that I received the exact amount needed to pay for my missions trip the same day that the money was due. He didn’t provide one penny more or less than what was needed, and I’ll never get used to his blessings that continue to overflow in my life.

I hope this encourages you to stay strong and courageous in your faith and continue to trust in God. Once you realize that He’s all you need, you’re set!
